I sell domain names on ebay and a healthy percentage of buyers can't grasp the concept that a "forum name" is different than the "username". People are so accustomed to the "username" being the key to everything with all other registrars and well, 99% of all accounts they set up online that even when I continuously keep repeating "forum name, forum name, forum name" - they see "username, username, username". Here is a recent exchange with a buyer (most buyers don't actually read the instructions in the listing so I have to message them).
Seller: Thanks for your payment. Please provide your "Dyandot "forum name" (not the username) for the ownership change. Full details are in the listing. Buyer: (provides username) Seller: To find your "forum name" copy and paste this link in your browser: https://www.dynadot.com/community/help/question/find-forum-name Buyer: Attaches screenshot of username. Seller: Forum Name. The information needed is the "Forum Name". Copy and paste this link in your browser: https://www.dynadot.com/community/help/question/find-forum-name
*Now I wait and hope that this time buyer will "get it".
I do apologies for any inconvenience this has caused you. We use user name and forum names at different times to help build an extra layer of security for our customer. Please let us know if you have any other feedback or questions.
