Closeout Domain Auction FAQs
What is an expired domain?
How does a Dynadot expired closeout work?
An expired closeout allows you to purchase domains that received no bids during the expired auction phase at a fixed, decreasing price.
- Domains with no auction bids move here.
- They are offered at a fixed price that drops daily during the closeout period.
- The listed price does not include the domain's renewal fee, which must also be paid at checkout.
Closeout domains are available for a limited time, giving buyers a final opportunity to acquire them before they leave the platform.
How long do domains remain in the closeout listing?
How does pricing and payment work for closeout domains?
Closeout domain pricing is calculated as a fixed cost + the domain's renewal fee, and payment is required immediately at checkout.
Fixed cost schedule:
- Day 1: $30
- Day 2: $15
- Day 3: $5
The renewal cost for the domain's TLD is automatically added to your cart during checkout.
Because closeout domains are available for only a short period, immediate payment is required to secure the domain. If payment is not completed right away, another buyer may acquire it or the domain may fully expire.
Are there any account requirements for acquiring closeout domains?
Yes, your Dynadot account must have at least $5 in spending within the past 12 months to acquire closeout domains.
If you don't meet this requirement, you can add $5 in prepay credit to your account to qualify.
