What is spam?

Updated: 2025/06/11Viewed times: 24409

Spam refers to email that is both unsolicited and sent in bulk.

  • Unsolicited means the recipient has not granted permission to receive the message.

  • Bulk indicates that the message is sent to multiple recipients, typically at the same time.

An email that is unsolicited but not sent in bulk—such as a one-time inquiry about a product—is generally acceptable. Similarly, a bulk email that is not unsolicited—such as a newsletter sent to subscribers—is also permissible. However, when an email is both unsolicited and sent in bulk, it constitutes spam.

At Dynadot, the use of our services to transmit spam is strictly prohibited. Please refer to our Spam Policy for more information.
