Place your bid before the auction closes. If you win, the domain is transferred to your Dynadot account automatically. No negotiation, no waiting.
Opt in from your control panel
Go to your auction listings page in our user control panel, click on the .AI domain you want to list, and select "Join Pre-Expiry Auction”.
Bidding opens at $1, no reserve
Every listing starts at $1. Once the auction window closes, the highest bidder wins, no minimum price to hit.
Auctions close before expiration
List your domain anytime in the 40 to 5 days window before expiration. Auctions close automatically at 5 days before expiration.

Which domain extensions are eligible for Pre-Expiry Auctions?
Currently, Pre-Expiry Auctions on this page are available for .AI domains only.
Additional ccTLDs may be supported in the future.
.COM and other gTLDs are not supported in this system and cannot be listed here. They follow a different expiration and auction process.
How many years can I renew a .AI domain at a time?
You can only renew .AI domains 2 years at a time, up to a maximum of 10 years. You cannot renew .AI domains for 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 years. See our .AI domain extension page for more details.
What happens if my domain doesn’t sell?
If your auction ends with no bids, your domain remains in your account as normal. You can choose to renew it, relist it, or let it expire.
What is the starting price and are there fees?
Auctions start at $1 by default with no reserve price. There are no upfront listing fees. Our standard User Auction terms do apply, see our help file for more information.
How is the domain transferred to the winner?
Once the auction closes, the domain is automatically moved to the winning bidder's Dynadot account. There’s no manual transfer process required.
What is Dynadot's commission fee for the Pre-Expiry Auction?
Dynadot’s commission fee for the Pre-Expiry Auction is 15% of the final auction price.
What if I want to list my domain for auction, but it isn't within 40 days of expiration yet?
Pre-Expiry listings are only supported within the 40 days before expiration to 5 days before expiration. However, if your domain isn't quite there yet, you can make a reservation in advance. Once you make a reservation, your domain will be automatically listed for auction when it reaches 40 days before its expiration date, no further action needed on your part.
